about the watch

In 1989, Tudor unveiled the 79000 series of Submariners, which included the Ref. 79090 and 79190. The Ref. 79090, reminiscent of the original 7900 series, offered both blue and black dial options with matching bezels. Notable changes included triangular hour markers at 6 and 9 o’clock. Its 39mm case housed an ETA 2824-2 movement, while the Oyster-type steel bracelet (ref. 9315/0) featured folding links and a 'Fliplock' folding clasp adorned with the Tudor logo.

The 79090 is a beautifully executed homage to the vintage Submariners. Indeed, although produced in the 90s, the watch sports an aesthetically pleasing blue dial with tritium indexes that are not circled and an Oyster bracelet with folding links, both reminiscent of 70s Submariners. Despite these vintage features, the watch exhibits great resistance and is perfect for daily wear for anyone seeking more than just a classic black Submariner.

This specific piece, sold in 1995, has been kept in amazing condition over the years. Indeed, it seems like the case was never polished. As a cherry on top, it is sold with its original box and papers.

The watch is in exceptional condition. The case appears to have never been polished. The dial is flawless.

The bracelet is the original Oyster bracelet with folded links, reference 9315/0. It is in very good condition and shows no signs of stretching. It has certainly been refreshed once.

The watch is sold with its original box and warranty papers.

The movement is a caliber 2824-2, which runs perfectly well.
