about the watch
The Carrera re-edition CS3110 faithfully replicates the iconic design of the early Carrera ref. 2447D from 1965, renowned for its blue outer decimal track. Released just before TAG Heuer was acquired by LVMH, this re-edition marks a significant moment in the brand's embracing of its historical designs in the 1990s. With a polished 36mm case, Carrera lugs, and vintage-style pump pushers, it closely resembles its 1960s predecessor. Notably, it features tritium lume on the hands and hour markers, which will develop a charming patina over time, making it a highly authentic homage to the original.
Launched alongside the Porsche 911 in 1963, the Heuer Carrera, conceptualized by Jack Heuer, quickly became a cornerstone for the brand, mirroring the 911's significance. Named after the perilous Carrera Panamericana race of the 1950s, its debut model, the 2447, prioritized legibility for motorsport professionals. Despite fluctuations in popularity, the Carrera name resurged in the 1990s, shaping TAG Heuer's identity and setting itself as the cornerstone of their varied offering, which spans from classic timepieces to modern smartwatches.
This specific piece was sold in November 1997, and has been kept in a stunning condition over time. Indeed, the dial has no scratches or marks, enhanced by a lovely cream tritium on the indexes and hands. The case has kept its original angles and dimensions and shows no dent, only some light manipulation scratches here and there, which is the norm on a close-to-30 years old watch! The black bracelet is the original one and comes with the original heuer buckle.
The watch is in amazing condition. It was very well taken care of over the years, and has kept great case dimensions and angles, just as when it left the factors. There are no major bumps or scratches, but of course due to its age it has some visible micro scratches.
The black leather bracelet is the original one.
The watch is sold with its full original set, including of course the warranty papers and the box.
The movement is a manual caliber Lemania 1873, which runs perfectly well.
