about the watch

“The Owl”, or Royal Oak Day Date, was the first reference to introduce a complication layout (day and date) on the Royal Oak in 1983, one year before the first perpetual calendars. It was then renamed 25572 around 1984-85. The BA version, meaning full yellow gold, has been produced in only 524 units. This spectacular example kept all original parts, including the hands and no logo crown! It bears no lume hands and dial, the very first execution seen on this reference, sometimes called "Mk 0.5". The dial is in immaculate condition and shows no sign of scratch or oxidization.

The case has a lot of material, which is a good sign that the watch has probably been lightly refreshed (no heavy polishing) only once in its life. This is even more spectacular when you consider that the watch is almost 40 years old and fully made of 18k yellow gold.

The clasp is the correct for the 477 bracelet with a white gold deploying blade.

The watch is sold alone, without box or papers. We provide a Veritas travelling pouch.

The movement is the original 2124/2810, which runs perfectly well. The watch is still waterproof, although we do not recommend to try and meet fishes with it...
