about the watch

The Rolex Sea-Dweller 1665 was born out of a collaboration between Rolex and the French company COMEX, a pioneer in saturation diving. Designed for professionals working at extreme depths, it introduced the Rolex-patented helium escape valve in 1967. The 1665 “Great White” derives its nickname from its all-white markings on a black background, succeeding the legendary Double Red.

The watch offered here is in absolutely fantastic condition: a completely original model, with no service parts, featuring well-defined case edges and an immaculate dial. Indeed, the mk1 dial retains the characteristic matte finish of the 1665 models from this generation, perfectly preserved. The tritium on the hour markers and hands has developed a beautiful, uniform cream patina and has not been relumed. The bracelet is also original, ref. 93150 with 585 endlinks, as are the crown and the bezel, which are often replaced on these references.

The watch is in great condition. The case, bracelet and bezel have sharp angles and a lot of material, proving how well it was taken care of. The dial is in immaculate condition.

The Oyster bracelet is in great condition and has no stretch. It is the original reference 93150, with 585 endlinks.

The watch is sold alone, without box or papers. We provide a Veritas travel pouch.

The movement is a caliber 1570, which runs perfectly well.
