The Rolex Day-Date, also known as the "Rolex President", is a legendary and prestigious model in Rolex's rich history. Unlike the so-called "sports" models, the Rolex Day-Date is a pure luxury product. Only produced in precious metals, it is nevertheless perfectly suited to everyday use, thanks in particular to its day and date functions.

The 18038, the first 5-digit reference, saw the introduction of quick date setting and a sapphire crystal, making it the perfect blend of vintage look and modern practicality. With its heavy, warm presence on the wrist, this watch is more than just a gold watch. It represents a whole range of manufacturing expertise, and in particular the excellent use of precious materials that has, among other things, made the reputation of Rolex.

The case and bracelet are in 18-carat yellow gold and are in remarkable condition. Indeed, oxidation is clearly visible on the case and bracelet, showing how little this watch has been worn. This distinctive feature gives the piece a rose gold appearance depending on the light, adding to its charm and originality. The gold dial is immaculate, with all the tritium dots clearly visible and sporting a lovely orange pumpkin patina. The hands are also tritium, with a patina that matches the dial perfectly. The "President" bracelet, reference 8385, with invisible clasp, is also original. The stretch is virtually non-existent. The watch is entirely original, which is rare enough to be worth mentioning—especially when talking about a piece that is over 40 years old!
