The Rolex Day-Date, also known as the "Rolex President", is a legendary and highly prestigious model in Rolex's rich history. Unlike the so-called "sports" models, the Rolex Day-Date is a pure luxury product. Always produced in white, yellow, or pink gold, it is perfectly suited to everyday use, thanks in particular to its day and date functions, whose usefulness is all too often overlooked.
The 1803, famous for its astonishing "step dial", has had a wide variety of dial, case, and bracelet configurations. This version sports a rare "no lum" grey dial, with a full yellow gold case mounted on a leather strap. A timeless design that never goes out of style, embodying the saying "less is more".
This particular piece dates back to circa 1968, and has kept all its original parts. The dial is in perfect condition. The case has been kept in stunning condition, making this piece a true collector's dream.
The case has a lot of material and sharp angles, which is a good sign that the watch has been really well taken care of. This is even more spectacular when you consider that the watch is over 50 years old and fully made of 18-carat yellow gold.
The watch is sold alone, without box or papers. We provide a Veritas travelling pouch.
The movement is the original caliber 1556, which runs perfectly well.
