about the watch
In the rich and long history of Rolex, not many model lines can pride themselves in being as significant as the Datejust. Born in 1945, the Datejust has seen many variations of cases, bracelets, and dials combinations.
This specific timepiece, a reference 16233, saw the introduction of the sapphire crystal, improving robustness compared to older references. The watch also features a quickset date setting. It has been very well preserved over the years, as one can see on the pictures. The tapestry gold dial, which blends perfectly into the continuity of the bracelet and bezel, is absolutely impeccable. This dial is probably one of the most aesthetic and adds a great deal of vintage charm to this piece. The tritium of the hands and dial has remained relatively clear, typical of these references, contrasting nicely with the dial. The watch has kept all its original parts.
Cherry on the cake, the watch is delivered with its full original set. Whether to start a collection or to add to one already well underway, the 16233 is one of the best reference for everyday wear.
The case is in very good condition, having kept plenty of material and sharp edges.
The buckle and bracelet are also in excellent condition. The Jubilee bracelet is the original one, reference 62523H.
The watch is sold with its original set. This includes the box, the over-box, the warranty papers, the two booklets (Oyster and Datejust), the calendar, the warranty translation and the green card holder.
The movement is the original caliber 3135, which runs perfectly well.
