In Rolex's long and rich history, few models can claim to be as important as the Datejust. Born in 1945, the model has seen numerous variations and combinations of cases, bracelets and dials. 
This specific timepiece, a reference 16233, saw the introduction of the sapphire crystal, improving robustness compared to older references. The watch also features a quickset date setting. It has been very well preserved over the years, as one can see with the case and bracelet which are in excellent condition. The champagne dial, which blends perfectly into the continuity of the bracelet and case, is absolutely impeccable. The tritium of the hands and dial has remained relatively clear, typical of these references, contrasting nicely with the dial. Although classic, the dial varies in color according to the light, lending it a great deal of charm. 
The icing on the cake is that the watch comes with its complete original set. It was also overhauled at Rolex in 2020, and is under warranty until 2024. No parts have been changed during the service, and the watch is entirely original. Whether to start a small collection or to add to one already well underway, the 16233 is the perfect reference for everyday wear and a true Rolex joy. With two tone (gold/steel) coming back into fashion, the 16233 is certainly one of the pieces most pushed to the forefront, for good reason.
