about the watch
In Rolex's long and rich history, few models can claim to be as important as the Datejust. Born in 1945, the model has seen numerous variations and combinations of cases, bracelets and dials.
This specific timepiece, a reference 16233, saw the introduction of sapphire crystal, improving robustness compared to older references. The watch also features a quickset date setting. It has been very well preserved over the years, with the case and bracelet being in excellent condition and the watch still fully original. The eye-catching white dial, which blends perfectly into the continuity of the bracelet and case, is impeccable. The tritium of the hands and indexes has remained relatively clear but tending to a beige tint, contrasting nicely with the dial.
Whether to start a collection or to add to one already well underway, the 16233 is the perfect reference for everyday wear. With two-tone watches coming back into fashion, the 16233 is certainly one of the pieces that will be more and more desired by watch enthusiasts.
The case is in very good condition, retaining plenty of material and sharp edges.
The buckle and bracelet are also in excellent condition. The Jubilee bracelet is the original one, reference 62523H.
The watch is sold alone, without box or papers. We provide a Veritas travelling pouch.
The movement is the original caliber 3135, which runs perfectly well. It was service one month ago by our watchmaker.
