about the watch
In Rolex's long and rich history, few models can lay claim to such renown as the Datejust. Born in 1945, the model has seen many variations and combinations of cases, bracelets and dials.
This specific watch features a grey ‘tapestry’ dial, so named because of the vertical stripes that lend it depth and create a fascinating play of light. Indeed, the colour ranges from dark charcoal to light grey, which can produce the famous ‘ghost’ effect, where all the markings appear to vanish. This versatile dial gives the watch a lively and dynamic look on the wrist. The steel bezel is original and very attractive, making the piece slightly sportier than if it were fitted with the famous fluted white gold bezel. The Jubilee bracelet is in perfect condition and is made of steel, just like the case and bezel.
As we like to say, neo-vintage watches are often a good compromise, offering the durability and precision of a modern watch whilst retaining the aesthetics and charm of vintage models.
Furthermore, the watch is in excellent overall condition, as it has never been polished before (‘unpolished’). This makes it the perfect first Rolex and a must-have for anyone looking to complete their collection. The icing on the cake is that the watch comes with its original box and price tag.
The case and strap are in excellent condition, having never been polished before.
The Jubilee bracelet is the original one, reference 62510H, and shows no signs of stretch.
The watch is sold with its original box and outer box, as well as the price tag.
The movement is the original 3135 calibre, which is in perfect working order. It was serviced in March 2026 by our watchmakers.
