about the watch
In Rolex's long and rich history, few models can lay claim to such renown as the Datejust. Born in 1945, the model has seen many variations and combinations of cases, bracelets and dials.
Reference 16014 saw the introduction of the date's quickset, which adds simplicity of use without compromising the vintage look of the piece.
This specific piece, with black dial, fluted white gold bezel and jubilee bracelet, remains probably the most sought-after version, thanks in particular to the contrast of the dial on the steel and white gold. This fascinating dial is particularly rare and sought-after, and one of the most versatile option to wear. Indeed, it has a very sporty appearance and seems to vary in color according to the light, from deep black to anthracite gray or dark brown. The indexes and hands are in tritium, which has developed a superb pumpkin-orange patina, making the piece all the more attractive.
The overall condition of the watch is excellent, with plenty of material left on the case and sharp corners. It is the perfect starting point for a collection and a must-have for any serious watch enthusiast.
The case has a lot of material and sharp edges. Certainly the watch has been refreshed, but no heavy polishing was made.
The buckle and bracelet are in excellent condition too. The bracelet is the original one, reference 62510H, and has no stretch.
The watch is sold alone, without box or papers. We provide a Veritas travel pouch.
The movement is the original caliber 3035, which runs well.
