about the watch

In the rich and long history of Rolex, not many model lines can pride themselves in being as significant as the Datejust. Born in 1945, the Datejust has seen many variations of cases, bracelets, and dials combinations.

This specific piece, with its two tone case and blue dial, generates this strong “Miami vice” 80s vibe, bringing some warmth and funk to an all-time classic that can sometimes be considered “too simple”. This configuration’s little twist shows one made the effort to find his perfect fit in the vast offering of Datejust’s combinations.
The dial is immaculate. The tritium of both the hands and dial has remained relatively light, contrasting nicely on the stunning blue dial. The latter has many variations of colours depending on the light, from vibrant blue in the sun, to a deep marine blue in the shadow. This versatile and lively dial makes this watch even more special, as it can look like two different Datejust in a matter of seconds.

The case has a lot of material and sharp edges. Certainly the watch has been lightly repolished, but it was well-done, conserving much of the case’s material. This is all the more spectacular considering that the watch is almost 40 years old.

The buckle and bracelet are in excellent condition too. The Jubilee bracelet is the original one, reference 62523H.

The watch is sold with its original box and papers.

The movement is the original caliber 3035, which runs perfectly well.
