This reference 16710 was originally sold in 1996 in Kowloon, Hong Kong. It has remained in beautiful condition, perfectly blending the robustness and technical improvements of modern watches with vintage aesthetics and feels. As we like to say, neo-vintage watches are often the perfect blend.
This particular piece is entirely original and in excellent condition. It sports a tritium dial that has gained a stunning beige patina over time. It's a great addition and a fantastic start to any collection of Rolex sports models. The Coke insert is not the most common, although, very aesthetically pleasing, adding a little originality to this beautiful piece, unlike the GMT known as "Pepsi" or with a black bezel. The watch is delivered with its complete original set, conferring great collector's value on this splendid GMT.
The case has a lot of material and sharp edges. The buckle and bracelet are in excellent condition too. The green caseback sticker is still well visible, attesting of how well the watch was taken care of. The bracelet is the original one, reference 78790. It has no stretch.
The watch comes with its original box, guarantee papers, both booklets, both tags, the green wallet as well as the original warranty translation and calendar. This is a true full set, the perfect collector’s piece.
The movement is the original caliber 3185, which runs perfectly well.
