about the watch
The Rolex Day Date, also known as the "presidents’ watch," is a legendary and highly prestigious model in Rolex's rich history. Unlike the sport models, the Rolex Day Date screams luxury. Always produced in full white, yellow, or rose gold, it is a perfect daily, especially this white gold version, being more discreet while retaining all the caracteristics that make this such a legendary timepiece. The 18039, the first 5-digit reference, saw the introduction of the single quickset for the date, which provides a practical benefit without compromising the watch's vintage aesthetic. With its heavy and warm presence on the wrist, wearing this watch is a statement in itself.
A Day Date description would be incomplete without mentioning the defining feature that sets it apart from other watches: the iconic president bracelet. The fact that a model is named after its bracelet speaks for itself. If the pictures did not convince you on why this bracelet is so special, we encourage you to wear a Day Date, and everything will be clearer.
This specific piece is fully original, with its amazing blue dial that varies from royal blue to a deep ocean blue depending on the light (as can be seen on the pictures). The diamond indexes bring some bling and freshness to this stunning watch. Cherry on the cake, this flawless dial has a charming pumpkin patina, beautifully contrasting with the blue.
The case has a lot of material and sharp angles. This is even more spectacular when you consider that the watch is almost 40 years old and fully made of 18-carat white gold.
The bracelet is the original president bracelet. It has no stretch.
The watch is sold alone, without box or papers. We provide a Veritas travelling pouch.
The movement is the original caliber 3055, which runs perfectly well.
