In Rolex's long and rich history, few models can lay claim to such renown as the Datejust. Born in 1945, the model has seen many variations and combinations of cases, bracelets and dials. Reference 16234 is the first Datejust to have had sapphire instead of plexiglass, offering a little more resistance and a slightly more modern look than previous references. What makes this Datejust special is the dial, which has gained patina over time and varies from metallic silver to a stunning creamy/champagne colour depending on the light, giving it a lively, dynamic appearance on the wrist. The hour-markers and hands are in tritium.

The overall condition of the watch is very good, it has retained all its original parts, meaning nothing was changed during service, and the green caseback is still visible.
