Royal Oak, ref. 15000SA, sold in 1990

The one and only Royal Oak, the masterpiece of Genta's design. Represented here in its steel and 18k yellow gold version, it is for us one of the most beautiful two-tone watches ever produced. This particular piece was sold in Japan in March 1990 and is a genuine time capsule, having never been polished and very rarely worn.

about the watch

The Royal Oak is one of the most important watches in the history of watchmaking. Gerald Genta's genius is fully expressed in this 33mm "mini-jumbo" version, which is often easier to wear because of its smaller size compared to the famous 39mm "Jumbo". However, the 33mm has nothing to envy the jumbo, AP having done an excellent job of adapting the proportions and appearance that make up the very soul of the Royal Oak. The SA version, meaning that the watch combines two materials (yellow gold and steel), is probably one of the most beautiful two-tone watches ever produced (if not the most beautiful). It fully highlights the characteristic angles and revolutionary style of this timeless model, while giving it an aesthetic and wearing appeal thanks to the gold. The reference 15000 was the first 33mm Royal Oak to be fitted with a mechanical selfwinding calibre.
This specific example sports a flawless grey dial. The case, bracelet and dial look like new, as the watch was never polished and probably only very seldom worn. The watch does not have any service parts, making it a time capsule. Rarely seen on these references, the watch comes with its original box and papers, making it a true collector's item.

The case and bracelet have never been polished and show no obvious scratches. The watch thus looks like new.
The watch is fully original and has no service parts.

The watch is sold with its original box and papers, which is very rare on these pieces. This makes for a true Royal Oak collector's item!

The movement is the original 2140, which runs perfectly well.
